2. Answers to some common questions:

1. Question: What is the difference between industrial-grade ONU and ONT?

Answer: ONT is an optical network terminal, used for end users, commonly known as optical modem. The industrial-grade ONU refers to the optical network unit, and there may be other networks between it and the end user. To give a simple example, for example, in a residential area, the ONT is a device directly placed in the user's home, while the ONU may be placed in the corridor, and each user is connected to an industrial-grade ONU through equipment such as switches.

2. Question: What is the composition of PON?

Answer: ① PON is composed of OLT (optical line terminal), industrial-grade ONU (optical network unit) and POS (passive optical splitter).

② PON is divided into two technical schools, EPON and GPON, referred to as xPON.

3. Question: What is the composition of ODN?

Answer: POS and optical fiber. ODN does not contain any electronic devices and electronic power supplies. It is all composed of passive devices such as POS and does not require active equipment.
